Matapalo Biological Reserve.

Matapalo is a world-wide known surf beach.

 

The view is impressive, the enormous waves breaking in the beach and a perennial breeze turns this place the perfect paradise.
  The Matapalo`s Biological Reserve is one of the best places to see animals and birds in the Osa Peninsula, the Forest is dense and gets to the sea. The monkeys abound in this place, as well as the slots and coatis. 

There are many pelicans that please to glide over this beach, toucans, scarlet macaws and many tropical birds flight everywhere.
 

The trip to Matapalo takes between 6 and 8 hours.

Our tours are led by expert local guides, specialized in diverse fields of the ecology and Biology.

This tour is very versatile, can be a strong hike for adventurers or a nice tour for a family with children, you decide for how long, do you wish to hike.

From Puerto Jimenez we leave by taxi (4x4) the transfer to Matapalo take less than an hour.

At Matapalo we are going to walk along the beach and the jungle, we will visit the Matapalo`s cascade and enjoyed the natural environment, with the great opportunity to meet the tropical paradise.
