Day
1
• 6:00 Living from Juan Santamaria International airport
• 7:00 Arrive Puerto Jimenez air strip.
• 7:00 -8:00 Breakfast
• 8:00 - 8:30 Charla introductoria.
• 8:30 – 9:00 preparation to start the adventure. (Is necesary
that every tourist take a small backpack to carry the staff for the day,
water, sun cream repellent, the other luggage will be take by car to next
camping area, Bosque Verde)
• 9:00 Start
• 9:00-11:30 Bicycle ride to Matapalo, (along the cycling trips
the group Will be provide with all the liquid you may need,) 20 kms
• 11:30 - 12:00 Lunch at Matapalo.
• 12:00 – 13:00 After lunch a optional hike in the Matapalo
Biological reserve, is nice place with amazing view and a wide possibility
on wild life observation. In this area we may find some other tourist.
(about 1 hour)
• 13:00 – 16:00 Bicycle ride from Matapalo to Piro, (22 kms)
• 16:00 – 17:00 Set up the camping area at Piro
• 17:00 -- 18:00 Dinner.
• After Dinner there is an optional hike to Piro beach (5 km) (the
hike will be leaded by the ATGD guide)

Note: luggage and camping gear will be carried by car.
The route on days 1,2 and 3 will be on an area of the Osa Peninsula, wish
is part of the Mesoamerican Biological Corridor.
Day 2
• 6:00 – 7:00 Breakfast
• 7:00 – 8:00 Lift the camping area and prepare the staff
for the next adventure. (All luggage, camping gear and bicycles will be
take to Rio Nuevo by car, by a different road, the tourist should only
carry its own personal staff)
• 8:00 Horse back ride from Piro to Rio Oro and then following the
river up to the base of the mountain where the hike starts. (little more
than 10kms, 2 hours horse back riding)
• 10:00-16:00 Hike thru the mountain to Rio Nuevo, (this is a beautiful
trail thru primary forest, would be about 6 hours hike, 25kms). For lunch
(box lunch) the group will stop in middle of the mountain and rest a few
minutes, every one will carry each own box lunch, snacks, water and hydrating
drinks for the way.
• Rio Nuevo lodge is a tent camp with tents already set up in platforms.
There the group is able to rest, take shower, before dinner.
• 18:00 Dinner.

Note: For lunch the group will stop in middle of
the mountain. Before starting the day activity every one will be provide
with box lunch, hydrating drinks, energetic snacks and water.
Day 3
• 6:00 - 7:00 Breakfast
• 7:30 – 11:00 Bicycle ride from Rio Nuevo to the main road,
thru the mountain
(9 km) then, 16kms thru the road and palm plantations, Bicycle ride to
Kobo.
• 11:00 -12:00Lunch at Kobo, (Kobo is a farm run by locals, the
word “Kobo” means “Dream” in Knobe dialect)
• 12:00-15:00 Chocolate Tour, (2 ½ hours) this an agro-eco-touristy
experience the group will see organically grown plantation of different
products, such as beans, rice, banana plants, celery, cilantro, chili,
tomato pineapple, papaya, and great variety of tubers, and of course Cocoa
plantations. (this is an optional hike, people may chose to stay at the
family house and just walk around),
• 15:00-17:00 Bicycle ride to Guadalupe. Thru the old road, no cars
(5 km)
• At Guadalupe the group will stay at la Danta Corcovado guest house.
• 18:00 Dinner.
• Camping at Guadalupe.
• Optional Hike in la Danta (Trails from 250mts to 4kms.)

Day 4
• 6:00 -7:00 Breakfast.
• 7:00 - 8:00 Bicycle Ride from Guadalupe to Playa Blanca. (About
6 kms)
• 8:00 Start the paddling up to Rincon (Chontal Camping). 20.5 kms
• 14:00 Set up camping area.
• 18:00 Prepare and eat Dinner.
Include: all mentioned above.
Note: on the way and all long the kayaking trip,
tourist will be provide with snacks, water, hydrating drinks and lunch.
Day 5
• 6:00 Lift camping area.
• 7:00 – 8:00 Breakfast.
• Paddling from Rincon to Playitas (22 kms)
• Set up camping area.
• Island Exploration (Distance accord to how long the group wants
to paddle and hike, they also can swim in this area)
• 18:00 Prepare and eat Dinner.
Include: all mentioned above.
Note: During the kayaking trip all group will be involve in activities
such as: set up camping area, food preparation, collect fruits/vegetables,
fishing, etc.
Day 6
• Paddling from Playitas to the Animal Sanctuary
(Caña Blanca). ( 15kms)
• Visiting Piedras Blancas National Park Mangrove Forest, at Rio
Esquinas.
• Accommodation and dinner at Caña Blanca an Animal Sanctuary.
• Optional mountain hike in Caña Blanca Reserve.
Include: all mentioned above.
Note: At Caña Blanca the tourist have the opportunity to see wild
animal very close, these are animal in rehabilitation such as: howler
monkeys, white face monkey, spider monkey, ant eater, scarlet macaw, green
parrots. The optional hike is thru the Caña Blanca reserve.
Day 7
• Paddling from Caña Blanca to Puerto
Jiménez, (13 kms), at Puerto Jimenez the group has access to shower
and bathrooms.
Include: Lunch is include, all mentioned above.
Note: Dinner and accommodation are not include on day 7. |
